What Do I Really Love to Do?

I really love the parts of my job that involve speaking and writing on what I’ve learned along the way.

Assertive Communication & DIY Public Relations.

I connect with and value the professional woman.  I live, work and sweat the target market and its many issues including balance, parenthood, career and general sanity.  I know that our lives are consumed with getting it all done, being valued & respected for it and keeping the crazy inside from taking over. We can’t always control what happens around us, but we CAN master the way people understand us.

I believe that the marketing of business and the marketing of self dissect at many points, starting with the way we communicate verbally and non-verbally.  I strive to explore this correlation with people that value personal & professional growth by improving their communication skill-sets.

Consequently, I’m lucky enough to be a regularly featured speaker on topics of assertiveness and effective communication at national women’s conferences and forums across the country. My published works have been featured in numerous local and national publications (both online and in print) and I enjoy the continued demand for my first international book project,  Overcoming the Superwoman Syndrome (which has a 5-star Amazon rating and has already been translated into Spanish and Polish).  The second published book contains more of my Assertive vs. Aggressive Communications material, is also found at Amazon and is entitled “The Woman’s Handbook for Self-Empowerment”.

What I want to be when I grow up:

  • A communications columnist
  • A valuable resource for young women and professional women  on Assertive Communications
  • A provider of useful products in print, online, podcast and video

What I need to make that happen:

  • A loyal following of interested and interesting folks that also value effective communication & swapping feedback.
  • A publisher for my third book project, “Assertive Doesn’t Mean Bitchy” (a compilation of tactics & strategies for the professional woman on exuding assertive habits without being too aggressive).
  • A print publication that finds value in adding an interactive column format to which I will contribute expertise in a fun, connective style while showcasing informative material.
